Homemade Cleansing of Colon
If you have ever decided to do a homemade colon cleanse, you might have faced difficulty in choosing what substances to use for the colon cleanse. This is because there are very many things that you can use at home for such a colon cleanse, and each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Before embarking on this process, you first of all have to ensure that you know what you want after the cleansing. For instance, you should be able to tell if you want to get rid of impacted fecal matter, or just simple detoxification. The reason for this is that many colon cleansing products don’t do everything in the colon. Most of these have very specialized functions. For instance, one substance may be a very good detoxifying agent while the other might be a very good anti constipation agent.
There are very many natural substances that you can use to make a homemade colon cleansing regimen, and each of them has their own benefit. Some of these are listed below.
Bentonite
Bentonite is a clay which is ingested in a paste form. It’s a naturally occurring substance, so you don’t have to worry about it being laced with artificial substances. Bentonite is a remarkable clay in that it does a very good job of absorbing all of the toxins in the colon. It does this primarily because of its physical properties. This clay has pores that are negatively charged, and attract the charged molecules of the toxins. They then become adherent to the clay. Since the clay isn’t absorbed, it means that the toxins will be expelled together with the clay at some point. In this way, it gets rid of all of the toxins in the colon. Bentonite is a very safe product to use since its actions are passive and it’s not absorbed in the intestines.
Psyllium husks
Psyllium is a type of plant. The husks of this plant can be ingested and form very good anti constipation agents. The husk for psyllium acts as fiber, which tone the muscles in the wall of the colon and also increase the rate of movement of the fecal matter in the lumen of the intestines. Apart from that, the husks also absorb water, making the fecal matter softer and easier to move from the colon. This makes this product very good for use as constipation medication.
These are just a few of the natural substances that one can use in colon cleansing at home. Though these products can easily be found in the environment, sometimes it’s easier to buy them from a store. This is because they are more likely to be safer to use than the ones found in the environment. However, if you are bent on getting them in their natural forms, always ensure that you get them in a non-contaminated form. This means you shouldn’t collect them from areas that have any sort of toxic depositions such as near dumping grounds.
