The Truth Behind Colon Cleansing: Is Colon Cleanse Truly Effective?

Colon cleansing can be effective for a lot of health benefits.  It can help the user lose weight, provide relief from constipation, gas and bloating.  Not everyone needs to have their colon cleansed and unless you go with a natural supplement, the side effects can be difficult to deal with.

Enemas and colonics used to be a more popular method to colon cleansing, but both can be uncomfortable and even painful with other negative side effects.  Supplements tend to be the easiest colon cleansing method and they also are deemed the safest.

When considering which supplements to take, do your research and make sure you’re familiar with the active ingredients in the supplements.  If you’re taking other supplements and/or medications, you should make sure that the supplements you’re taking won’t interact with the colon cleansing supplements.

Beware of teas, drinks and other concoctions that some cleansing programs want you to take.  These can be complicated, messy and difficult to swallow, literally.  My research has shown that these types of colon cleansers are more involved and are sometimes more expensive, but with less of a success rate, poorer customer service and not as good return policies.

The bottom line is to do your research and speak to professionals who know about colon cleansers.  Purchasing a product with a money back guarantee can also be important because if it doesn’t work, and it may not, you want to be able to get your money back.  Be careful of certain products that only offer a money back guarantee on unopened products.

If you’re considering having your colon cleansed, make sure you really need to have it done and that it’s something you comfortable with doing.  Consider the fact that you may need to use the bathroom more frequently and more urgently than usual.  If you work full time, colon cleansing may not be an option that will work well for you.  There are some colon cleansing programs that the user is supposed to use up to four times a year for a week each time.  That’s a month out of every year that you could potentially be uncomfortable or in pain, so use extreme caution when considering a colon cleansing program.
