Colon Cleansing: Is it a Danger to Your Colon?

Colon cleansing supplements and systems are popular in a day and age where people are busier and have less time to worry about their health consistently.  Raising children is a full time job and if you’re holding down a full time job in addition to taking care of your children (or even working full time singly), it may mean you don’t have time to get the proper exercise, eat the proper foods and watch your health.

Don’t get me wrong, proper colon care is necessary in avoiding constipation, gas and bloating, lack of energy and even colon cancer, but many products and information available are a hoax and tend to have more of a negative impact than a positive one.  Being aware of the pros and cons of colon cleansers is a place to start.

Very few online colon cleansing supplements and products are safe and effective, but there are some out there.  Some of the dangers associated with using colon cleansers are real and scary and consumers should be aware of this information before making a purchase.

Using the wrong colon cleanser can have negative side effects such as acne, constipation and bloating.  My research has proven that enemas and colonics used for colon cleansing tend to have more negative effects than supplements.

The water temperatures of these therapies can be extremely hot and can actually burn the intestinal cells and can harm the tract.  If the water does not come out in the time frame it’s supposed to, this can lead to complications such as abdominal cramping, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Consumers attempting the use of colon cleansing supplements should be on the lookout for allergic or negative reactions to the supplements and should be careful if they are already taking other supplements or are on medications.

Many herbs used to rid the body of parasites tend to be spicy and create a burning sensation in the stomach or intestines.  Users should also be aware of the proper dosages of Probiotics as over dosage can create abdominal cramps and diarrhea or constipation, none of which are appealing and are counterproductive to what someone participating in a colon cleansing regimen is trying to accomplish.

Some colon cleansing products may cause Gastro esophageal refluxes and should be taken with extreme caution and under the supervision of a healthcare professional or certified natural herbalist who can help you choose the right product which will be healthy for you and for your colon.
